What could be easier than dumping a whole lot of ingredients into it, and then letting the flavours mellow and intermix into the most delicious, economical and definitely home made meal? Nothing that I can think of!
And then, to top everything off, if you have leftovers, just plunk them into labeled plastic freezer bags.
You'll end up with meals your size, extras for friends, and they are just so easy to take out and use.
The following is one of my ever, dependable favorites ...
Black Bean Taco Mix
Some notes that might be worth reading about this recipe!
- Feel free to substitute ingredients, as long as they make up about this quantity of stuff!
- If you're in a hurry, cook everything in a frying pan. That gives you only one dish to wash, and as bachelors know, that's a good thing.
- If you don't want to watch this cook, the slow cooker is your answer.
- Valuable tip - when draining off the fat, instead of trying to do acrobatics, just scrunch up some paper towel, and use it to mop up the fat. it helps if you slant the pan so you can use both hands. I slant mine on the edge of a trivet - you know, that thingy that you put hot stuff on.
