An extra treat is to buy a chocolate ice cream cone, and wander leisurely and lickingly over to the pier at Davis Bay. There you find all kinds of folks - a veritable melting pot of fishermen, crabbers, children diving off the pier without concern for the shoals of herring passing by. It's all a happy mixture.
The dog days of summer
But wait… Suddenly you see a different way that dogs paddle here! I shot this photo of two paddling dogs, with their human owners, and in another few minutes they were joined by another four. As they got closer to the shore the dogs jumped off, and dog paddled the usual way. It was like a doggie swimming club!
I took out my trusty binoculars, thinking maybe my friend Maria Jordan had sneaked over the border with her A-Zs, but no, these were local dawgs. These words to go are for her today, just special thoughts for her in a time of more ugliness in the world news.
Hope you're enjoying summer as much as I am! I'd love to hear what you're doing. Feel free to make a comment here!
Wishing you a peaceful weekend,
