Yes, I'm talking about the instant pot! It's not really “instant” at all, and its streamlined looks make it the furthest thing from a “pot” or saucepan that you could imagine. Quite simply, it's an electric pressure cooker, with other electronic, computerized functions built into it. There are many other versions of it on line.
I am amazed at the power of words, and delighted that maybe whole nations might at last ditch awful convenience foods that are killing societies, and resolve to make their own healthy, fast foods! Not only do these modern, safe pressure cooker plus machines have the potential to restore health to folks, but it could have huge positive effects on their wallets too.
You can saute, slow cook, steam, boil, make a fabulous cheesecake, pressure cook for a wonderful meal. I haven't baked in it yet, but I think you could. It keeps your food warm once it's cooked to perfection, or you can make yoghurt too, if you choose.
However, the potential for damage to humans and ceilings was always present, so cooking was quite an adventure. He ventured into all kinds of wonderful, aromatic foods that came from it. Forget about the tablets and smartphones, the blaring convenience foods marketing messages from the TV intruding on your family time. Don't GPS track, then wait at the front door for your convenience food to arrive! It'll never compare to the fabulous meals you can prepare using your your multitasking “instant pot” or one of it's many cousins on the market today.
