Several readers have asked me, “How do you keep writing, every week for years on end? How do you get the constant inspiration?”
It's a good question. I guess one of the answers would be because I know you're all out there somewhere, expecting to read each week. Without knowing that, I doubt I'd feel as constantly enthused and diligent, always searching for ways to improve my writing and presentation. |
Some bloggers engage in writing just to keep up with a circle of friends and relatives. But most professional bloggers hope for a wider reading community, and enough earnings to keep it satisfying.
There seems a general awareness that blogging helps your business expand, yet 2013 stats show of 802 marketers questioned, about 75% said they did not have an up-to-date blog, meaning just three posts in a year! Another startling stat is that there are estimated to be 165 million blogs in the world! So you know it's a pretty crowded place out there. Then again, it gives you a huge potential market, if even a teeny percentage should decide to support you!
Friends everywhere!
You find yourself becoming a small member of a big team--the global village. Suddenly you realise how small the planet is. You have friends in many countries, far away from you, and yet often as close or closer than your own family. You develop a circle of colleagues that you can always rely upon to help in times of need.
And, for a special treat, I've included a beautiful Molometer vlog (video blog) as he goes to Denny Abbey in search of some peaceful protesters.
The list of wonderful supportive friends is huge, and it’s impossible to acknowledge the gratitude I feel for each one. But working consistently to improve after the initial blogging spark is lit seems to develop a passion for writing that is as important as brushing my teeth!
Little things mean so much!
How could she know it would do so much for me? She reached out to me, of all people in the whole wide world, to tell me what was happening in her life, and what a dreary, grey winter it has been where she lives.
Well, I can identify with that! It's been months of rain here. A gale is expected tonight, with more of the seemingly non-stop wet stuff accompanying it. I'm mentally going through all the wind blown chaos I can expect to find in the morning, and sighing as I remember the chilly wind that attacked Dearly Beloved and me today as we placed a sturdy trellis to hold a beautiful clematis this year. It's April! It's Spring! Stop with this rain! But it's been such a long winter, born out by stats that reveal this has been the worst one since 1951! I know how you feel, Sannel.
Dear Sannel, and all my other readers, from my garden to you, hoping this promise of Spring beauty will inspire you too.
