The relentless cold weather back east in our Continent persists. Today it is not too bad here on the west coast of Canada, being a warmish (love my optimism) 7C.
Nevertheless, it is grey and gloomy. I’m just thankful not to add icy to my description!
The conclusion we came to was sort of scary, but we decided to implement it. It necessitated selling a large, beautiful home, with a large beautiful garden, and moving to a much smaller living situation. We wanted nice neighbours, lots of interesting places to visit, a mild climate, and like-minded environmentally conscious people around us. That was when we decided on a move to the little village of Sechelt, on the west coast of BC.
Now, you read about the trauma of moving, but I had done that many times before in my life. However, suddenly this became a big challenge to settle into a new community and leave everything and all friends behind. I'm still not over it, and it is now 6 months since the move...
This is truly an Ode to Joy. Cowichan is a village on Vancouver Island. The lifestyle is very similar.
