As a child I loved to read Robin Hood. I read the story several times actually, and cried every time I came to the part of him dying. Little did I know that in the future I would think about this many times. Only now it seems his philosophy has come on hard times.
He was a rascal, of course, and I'm not advocating stealing from the rich and giving ill gotten gains to the poor. But it's sort of hard to swallow when the rich seem to steal from the poor, and it's just an ongoing thing in life. |
It's just turned out that all our big banks here in Canada have been engaged in a ruthless battle to have their staff sell services to a public that often didn't need them.
As you walked innocently up to the teller a star would appear on their computer screen, suggesting they should sell specific services to you. If they didn't sell, they were at risk of losing their jobs.
